I'm trying to get from St Croix to St Thomas in March on a Wednesday, but it doesn't look like the ferries run Tuesday-Thursday, is that true? Any suggestions for cheap travel?
You are correct. The only commercial transportation between the islands on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday is by plane.
Thanks Linda. Where can we find info regarding the plane service between St.Thomas n St.Croix. We reach USVI on wednesday 23 December. We wished to watch the Carnival in St.Croix on 24 December evening. Anyways tht we can be there?
Tomwants2sail & Urvin - in addition to the Seaplane which Pl3003 provided you the link for you can also fly between St. Thomas and St. Croix with Cape Air: http://www.capeair.com. The Seaplane goes between the Charlotte Amalie harbor and the Christiansted harbor. Cape Air goes between the two islands' airports.
Urvin - if you want to attend the opening of Festival Village on St. Croix on December 24th you will likely need to spend that night in St. Croix as the event starts at 7pm. Assuming you are arriving on St. Thomas on the 23rd you can look into Cape Air and the Seaplane as options but also you might contact the ferry. While the regular ferry schedule doesn't include Wednesday or Thursday departures they often have special schedules/trips during the St. Croix Festival period. Not sure that special schedule would include the evening the Village opens but it usually includes some of the events, like the parades which are in January.
