My family and I will be staying at the Divi Carnia Bay resort for two weeks in July. I am in a wheelchair and I am looking to go deep sea fishing and out to Buck island . Do any of the charters take wheelchairs on their boat?
My boys 11 and 14 like to snorkle and kayak. Where are the best places on the island? Where are the best local places to eat and DRINK??
Hello HotWheels,
I'd recommend contacting Big Beards, he does one of the charters out to Buck Island. See if he can accomodate your chair. http://www.bigbeards.com/index.htm
Your boys might enjoy the kayak trip at Salt River. http://www.nps.gov/sari/ is the national park area and kayak tour available through http://www.stcroixkayak.com/
I believe Divi has kayaks for rent, the Buccaneer does too and Chenay Beach Resort, so you folks can beach hop and the kids can enjoy kayaking. There are beach bars at each of those three for lunch/drinks.
Some dining favorites; super casual - Off the Wall, you might go there when snorkeling at Cane Bay (which is a good spot). Rumrunners in Christiansted is a good one, the Brew Pub on the Christiansted boardwalk is a nice spot to have lunch and enjoy the weather and view.
Have a great time.

If you are looking for local (West Indian) food - try Nolan's Tavern, just east of Christiansted. Excellent West Indian food, easy access and good prices. More mainstream fare such as barbecue chicken is also offered.
