Our family will be spending Christmas on St. Croix (first time visitors to St. Croix). The literature we've reviewed and travel books we've purchased mention a lot of "guided" hikes but very little about the hiking trails available to those would prefer to hike without a guide. Any advice on books or travel guides that would identify hiking trails open to the public? Thanks in advance

Olassee Davis at UVI has written such a book, but I don't know if he's published it yet. You can Google for his info.
There are also videos of some of the hikes led by Olassee on the Rediscovered STX program. You can Google for them, too.
