How safe is St. Croix bus service? Does anyone know if it goes near Chenay Bay Beach Resort?

Hello Bahia,

I don't think they go out to the Chenay Bay area, I think its primarily Frederiksted to Christiansted and in-between. They are safe to use; if you are in a hurry or on a tight schedule take a taxi.

There are no buses or regular taxis that go to Chenay Bay. They go between Frederiksted and Christiansted, and Chenay Bay is past Christiansted. You can take a private taxi (as opposed to the regular $2 ones), but they are EXTREMELY expensive, and should only be used on rare occasions like getting to the airport, or things like that. However for daily transportation, it is in your best interest to get a car. Take my word for it.

Dominic, I know you were off island recently, so maybe this is something new. I'm certain that I've seen VITRAN buses on the east end road go past Chenay. I think they do a loop past the Divi Carina on the South Shore Road. I don't know the schedule. Buses are said to be unreliable. Here's the phonebook: www.viphonebook.com

Really? I guess I missed hearing about that.. I would still suggest that he get a car though, since like you said, VITRAN is unreliable.

It looks like I got this partly wrong. Someone today told me there’s a route (#3 Northside) between Food Town in La Grand Princess and the grocery store near Great Pond. It runs along the Northside Road, East End Road, and Tipperary (Southgate) Road. That would put it about half a mile from Chenay.
