My husband and I will be in St Thomas on our 1st anniversary, I am looking for a nice restaurant for lunch to celebrate the day. I was thinking of Indigo because of the view, any other suggestions?
Also, what are the recommendations for "dingy" boat rental on St John?

We rented a dinghy last month from Noah's Little arcs. They have everything you need and seemed to be reasonably priced. www.bookitvi.com/nla.htm or 340 693 9030. They are very easy to work with.

Robert's is at the Elysian on the east end of the island. Is there a reason you want lunch out instead of dinner? Most lunch spots are fairly casual. I would agree that Robert's would be nice, open to the beach. I have also had great lunches at East End Cafe in Red Hook.

Looking for casual with great food and a killer view. We like to go for lunch or early dinner because we don't like to drive in the dark!! It takes practice to feel comfortable driving there.

Okay, early dinner will open up a lot of other possibilities. 😎

Most restaurants open for dinner by 6, some at 5. The sun sets at around 6:30-6:45 in the summer, so if you are thinking of great views, most should be okay. You asked about 13- don't know what time they open, but you can call when you get here. I have friends who love to go early to Havana Blue and watch the cruise ships leave- you have to check the schedule for time and number of ships for the day. Places like Mafolie, Banana Tree, Room with a View are all vista resataurants. Oceana was just mentioned in the Frenchtown thread- also on the water and a beautiful place. I don't think any of these are open for lunch, but I could be wrong.

Why not, for that one very special day, just take a taxi? We rented a car on our last trip but took a taxi one night so we didn't have to worry about the driving in the dark thing or counting drinks. If you take a taxi you can go anywhere unrestricted.
