Is Sopchoppy's a place to watch the Super Bowl? Went to Shipwreck Tavern last year. Great burgers. Just want to go someplace different this year. Any other suggestions for casual dinner, COLD beer and a good view of a television?

Sopchoppys was just sold and is under new ownership (3 weeks ago). They will be changing their name. We were there last night. The pizza is still good. They still have 2 televisions there and I'm sure they will be tuned to the Super Bowl.

However, the Caribbean Saloon is the real Sports Bar at the American Yacht Harbor in Red Hook. I'm sure that place will really be crowded on Super Bowl Sunday.

I agree, the Caribbean Sallon is THE sports bar in Red Hook. but on our recent trip. we watched games at Maggie Malones. Is open air & quieter. The Saloon was dark & noisy, but had the big screens. If you don't mind small screens & want to feel like you are in the islands, go to Maggies

I agree that Molly Molone's is a better choice in Red Hook.

They're having a contest to name the place.

The new name is " loggerheads" and they will be keeping the pizza menu and adding to it. We watched the playoff games at the Caribbean Saloon and it was LOUD and rambunctious, but a lot of fun. Sopchoppy's also had the games on but it was more subdued.
