The long awaited departure day is tomorrow for a day in STT and then on to STJ for 12 days....but NO! Only the biggest snowstorm of the year basically arriving almost to the hour of our departure from JFK, with up to 14" of snow forecast, luckily American Airlines instituted a "storm policy" and I was able to change my departure to Tue am instead of Mon am....I had called earlier and until they instituted the storm policy they had wanted 450 per ticket to change to Tue, thank goodness that policy came early this am!! Oh well better than waiting to be rescheduled and possibly not leaving till later in the week. I will miss my half day in STT was staying at the Holiday inn, who were nice enough to waive the cancellation fee of 1 night due to the circumstances!

I heard about that storm and some guests told me that AA was packed full today. Good deal, I hope all goes smoothly for you on Tuesday!
Looking forward to the trip report!

Well 50 miles south of DC right now we are in a white out
They said it would start at 2 PM and the first flake fell at 2:02
Ground has disappeared and the flake are huge but coming fast and furious.

I heard with the wind chill it is 81 in St John today *-)

I think I would have gone ahead and paid the $450 and left yesterday...
And my wife would have would have been furious on the extra money
and then... 10 minutes on Maho and she would have said that is a good investment.

I'm sitting here awaiting the pending storm as well and booking my flights to head to the Caribbean the end of this month. Did it ever dawn on anyone else that humans shouldn't live anywhere the water and/or air temp gets below 75?

Very sorry to hear about the weather interfering with your trip. We live in fear of the same thing, are headed out of Logan on Thursday to STJ for our first visit. We did get some wet snow here and they are talking about more overnight. Wish we were already there! Good luck getting to where you want to be.

vi bound,
We talk about that all the time! The human body is not meant to endure that cold! That's why I live here! 😛
Forgive my gloating!

It was a pretty bad day yesterday in STT. The water was about 75 degrees, the wind blew from the south/ south east at about 15 miles per hour, there was a rain shower or two, the sun was shining almost all the day and we walked on the beach, as usual.

I called my daughter up in NJ and and it was about 30 degrees, gray and morbid.

So someone needs to live up in the main land. And someone needs to live here in STT.

So all you guests come on down!!! We love you, but you can keep your main land weather.

OK, i've had enough. "Enough of the snow and the cold.

Husband has been out already. This morning he spend 1.5 hours snow blowing and he's going out again.

At least the snow has stopped.

I need some sun!!!!!!!!!!!!

I live in Minnesota, we had that snow storm last week. Got 10 inches in one day.

The first time we drove around STT my wife was amazed that the residents could make it up some of the driveways in the winter. That thought lasted about 15 seconds, then we laughed.
