We are considering a snorkeling daysail out of Coral Bay on either White Wing or Breath. Would appreciate any comments or suggestions from anyone familiar with either one or both. We are mianly interested in great snorkeling. Thanks!

My family and I took a daysail on Breath a number of years ago and had a bad experience with them. Destinations that were promised and never came to fruition, lunch terrible, crew hungover unfriendly, cleanliness of the boat and smell, lateness in leaving, etc. I would highly advise against it. To top it off, it was no bargain, we could not wait to get back. I feel there are much better daysails around.

Good Luck

My daughter and myself are also coming to STT in June and would like to take a daysailing trip. Can anyone recommend an outfit leaving from Red Rock that would be reputable? Thanks

Hello Charlotte,

Click on this link https://www.vinow.com/stthomas/SandL/charters.php. There are several snorkeling/sailing trips listed there. You can visit the websites and see which ones look like they match what you are seeking.

PS. Did you mean Red Hook?

Thanks Islander. I tend to make that same mistake every time I say Red Hook. Red Rock was in New Zealand. I'm sure that after I have been to the islands, I'll not make that mistake again. I will check out the website. Thanks again. Charlotte

Hello StevenH -

We will be staying on the Coral Bay side of STJ in mid-May & have booked a daysail with Capt. Phil on the Wayward Sailor out of Cruz Bay. I can recommend him because we sailed with him in 2001. Our first day with him was so good that we booked 1-2 more days on that trip. If you are staying in Coral Bay, you probably have a rental car & could drive to Cruz Bay. I expect that he is just as good now as he was in 2001. He would be good with all ages & levels of snorkeling ability I'm sure. We've had daysails at other places in the Caribbean & he was our favorite. He has a website: www.waywardsailor.net We had a wonderful snorkeling experience.

We sailed with Phil last summer and had a wonderful time. He is very keen to teach as much as showcase the area. Definitely recommend him if going to Cruz Bay is not an issue. If you want to stay in the Coral Bay area, go with White Wing.
