I will be traveling solo on a cruise and was very interested in snorkeling at Cinnamon Bay. Where is the best snorkeling in the bay? How about getting out to Little Cinnamon Cay? I have heard there is a current you have to swim against to get to the island. Should I rent a kayak or small paddle boat to get out there? I will be there in the summer - early July - is the water calmer then? Thanks

Hello Byrd,

You can start out snorkeling around the rocks on the eastern end of the bay, the snorkeling there is farily easy and its fairly good. If you go out further to the Cay as you mentioned the snorkeling is good. You can swim out to the Cay, get some fins with your snorkel gear - you should be fine. You can also rent a life vest to help you paddle with if you get tired and just want to float along and look at the underwater scenery.

Have a great time.
