I was recently introduced to the Steel Pan music of Victor Provost through Podcast From Paradise and I bought Victor's CD "Smooth Steel" (you can get it here: http://www.vitraders.com/)

I have to tell you that I'm very picky about Steel Pan music and I waited a long time to purchase a CD. The selection of smooth jazz that Victor plays on the steel pan is excellent! "Girl From Ipanema" transports you back to "island time" and if you like Spyro Gyra's "Morning Dance", you'll love Victor's version even more! Actually EVERY song on this CD is just great. No, this isn't a paid advertisement, just lil' ol' me telling you about a CD that I'm proud to add to my collection. (And you KNOW it's going in my carry-on next May when I head for St. John!)
