Hi!
We will be visiting St. Thomas the end of May and I could use some help.
I have a 15 year old son who loves to snorkel and fish. Can anyone recommend places that I can take him to? Is there any docks he can fish from or reasonable fishing excursions he can attend? Regarding snorkeling, we will be staying at the Frenchmen's Reef , where is the closest place that he can safely snorkel? Also he loves and has an Iguana, and is interested in all kinds of wildlife. Is there other things that you can recommend for him to do?

Thanks in advance for your help, it's greatly appreciated.

Regarding the Wildlife. He'll get a kick out of just sitting and watching the geckos racing around. Also the wildlife, horses, donkeys, chickens alongside the road.
I have heard of Coral World mentioned a lot on the website. Educational and interesting for kids. Do a search at the top here under snorkeling and fishing. There have been many posts about StT and these subjects in the past. Good Luck.

Yeah, Coral World is awesome, I love it. Though it can be kinda boring for a Virgin Islander who has been there several times, but for someone who isn't it's pretty cool. Even though I have been there quite a few times, I still appreciate it.

Hello Niki,

For snorkeling try Coki Beach. You could look into getting him dive courses - he might like that. You can also visit Secret Harbor and Sapphire for snorkeling. Head to St. John and try some snorkling at Trunk Bay, Cinnamon Bay, if you have a car you can go out to Salt Pond Bay. Fishing charters are pricey; if you have a few people that are going then you could look into doing a half day, still a few hundred dollars though. Frenchman's Reef isn't really close to the beaches I named, but you can rent a car and drive or take a taxi. You can visit Coral World on St. Thomas and go hiking on St. John where he might see goats, donkeys, deer, wild pigs... See if he would be interested in dive classes.

Hi Islander:

Thanks for your reply and suggestions.

I would like to look into diving courses for him, he has always wanted to do that. He loves to snorkel so this is a great idea.

Do you know of any good and reasonable diving courses around Coki Beach that I might inquire about? I did a search at the top and it said that Coki Beach is excellent for diving.
Thanks again for your help.

Niki
