Well the Pats are back in the playoffs - I know boring if you're not from New England, but another thrill for those of us who are. Anyway, as you might know Skinny's is the place to take in a Pats game (Hey Islander, what is Skinny's owner's name? I know he's a big Pats fan). And the playoffs begin the weekend of Jan 7-8 when the Pats will play in the first round. Anyone out there going to be on STJ that weekend? Hope to see you at Skinny's!

Hubby and I just caught the last two games at Skinny's. I believe the owner you are speaking of is named Moe. Heard his back has been out and didn't catch him at either of the last two games. He's from our area (Merrimack Valley) here in Mass. Plenty o' Pats fans to make up for the lack of Moe. 'Specially on Saturday. Kinda felt bad for the Tampa fans that showed up, heehee.

Hi Daydream,

We'll be there! We're leaving for St. John on 1/6. We didn't plan it to work out to be there for playoffs but what a nice coincidence. Did you see that Flutie drop kick yesterday? 🙂

Lynne and Paul:

Flutie really knew how to go out in style! I was thinking "what is he doing that far from the line" and then he dropkicks it right through!

So assuming we get out tomorrow in the snow (and leave the white stuff and the cold behind for the week), we will be hanging out in Skinnys on Sat night. If we don't get out we might go crazy.....

We didn't plan for the playoffs either, but this is starting to become a regular gig. I'll be the skinny (in my mind?) guy with the a beard and old two tone Pats hat, blue on top, light on the brim. Should be a typical playoff madhouse!

still daydreamin'

Daydream,

My family and I visited Skinny's in July when we took our first trip to the tropics. I am a big Sox and Pats fan. I felt so at home when we enetered Skinny's. My 10 year old son, also a fan, loved the banners.

Just wanted to say I wish I could be there for the playoff game this weekend. Most likely I'll be at home preparing for a day of ice fishing, which is like tailgate partying, on my day off Sunday.

Have a cold Carib for me,

Rod

Daydream Steve,

If you get a chance to read this when you are done vacationing let us know how the game was at Skinny's. I went to the store at half time to get some more beer for my Poker buddies and the bank clock read 4 degrees. I bet it was it bit nicer in Coral Bay. Good game though.

Well we're back in Mass. and suffering. One week is so short...

The game at Skinny's was a blast. Met Moe, such a a great guy. Turns out he runs (sometime) in the Boston Marathon, and I live in the town where it all begins! Went there with my brother-ilaw, leaving the ladies at home (my wife later said she should have joined us!). With the Pats blowing out TB in the second half a good time was had by all. Unfortunately the next week (when we were already home) did not have such a happy ending... wait till next year!

Surprisingly the place was not jammed as I have seen in previous years. Maybe the week right after New Year is a little slow. The whole island seemed to be a little less crowded. More STJ stuff in my upcoming trip report (see Part 1 already posted).

Say, Lynne and Paul, how was the trip?

Can't stop daydreamin' Steve
