We're considering Simply St. John villa in Coral Bay for an October trip, but haven't seen much on this forum about this villa. Has anyone stayed there recently? Any other suggestions for a clean, comfortable, inexpensive villa with a great view and hot tub in Coral Bay? Thanks!

Look at the website for Calabash Cottages. We stayed at Sago Cottage and absolutely loved it.

wwww.starvillas.com is very nice if you do not want to be all the way out in Coral Bay.

My wife and I rented Simply St. John in Feb. of this year. Where should I start. The view is very nice from the deck overlooking Coral Bay. The hot tub is ok and the outside shower is fun. Thats about it for the good points. The deck gets really hot in the afternoon and the owner should build a canopy over part of it so if you want to get out of the sun you can. The kitchen is very sparsely equipped. I think there was maybe 3 forks and knives, the toaster and refrigerator are from the 50's, very few pots and pans and the plastic china looked like they picked it up from a garage sale. The villa is supposed to have wifi but it actually is the neighbors wifi that if you stand outside at the gate to their place you can get internet connection.
It is an affordable place to stay and I hate to sound nitpicky but I guess we were hoping for something a little nicer. The place next door that we had to steal wifi from, Bambooshay, is the same price, same view and well appointed. We had a hard time getting our cleaning deposit back from the owner. After several phone calls we did receive it.

Hope that helps with your decision.

Just back from our 2-week stay at Simply St. John, and I would say the villa was almost perfect for our needs. Loved the view, location, and layout, and it was clean, comfortable, and had almost everything we needed. Apparently they've added some kitchen supplies since viguy stayed there, and maybe a new toaster, as it seemed to be fine... The refridgerator definitely needs replacing, though! But about the only thing we missed in the kitchen was a baking pan for when we wanted to cook some muffins... No big whup. Hot tub was great, and we loved the outdoor shower, although we wished the water had been warmer for the late night showers. We were out and about all day every day, but I could see where the deck would be hot in the afternoon if you're there during that time. We'd definitley consider it again!
