My husband visits this one forum where they all usually show pictures of their cars. Someone posted the idea of everyone showing their face. I am real curious as to what all of you look like. If we know what each other looks like, we may find each other on the islands. I will have to find a recent picture of myself and get it on Photobucket. I just posted one from about 1 1/2 years ago on the honeymoon hotel thread.
I think this will be a fun post. I'm ready for some more fun.
Show us what you look like! 🙂
Thanks for the posting tips everyone! Great idea Terri! This is Dan and me at Morgan's Mango in April 2005. It was our 5 year anniversary. Best night of my life! - Lisa in CT

LandLocked,
Is that picture at the Parrot Club bar in Old San Juan?
JW
Terri, are you the Vette lover? Last March we met a couple from Champaign Il who heard us talking about "Fun Fest" and knew exactly what we were talking about as they also had a vette. We live in Bettendorf Ia and have a C-5. mmm I'll have to look up our most flattering pic LOL
Yes, we too have a C5. How did you know? That is my husband's obsession, although I like it too. My obsession is STJ (could you tell?) We all have to do something during that mid-life crisis. 🙂
I went to funfest last year and my husband took my son this year. We belong to a Corvette club and are actually having a run to LaCrosse this weekend.
I keep thinking that if we sold the Vette, that would be about 5 STJ vacations!
I'd like to see a picture of you and your Vette. My husband is on that Corvette forum all of the time.
We also went to Bowling Green for the C5 bash in April. We have really enjoyed it.
This sounds like the Corvette forum!
Terri, where do you live? Last Fri 33 cars from our club left the Quad Cities for Winona Mn we had a great time but coming home on Sun., Just N of LaCrosse, on a really twisting steep curve , the guy in front of us hit some gravel, and almost rolled his 2007 convertible, Just a metal guide wire kept them from going over. The cop told us it is the worst curve in WI it took 2 tow trucks to get them out and we were sure it was totaled but he drove it home! One of the club members got a ticket on the inter-state, I said we need to go to another area for our fall drive-out as they all know us up there! Be Careful, by the way most of our club are boomers so we should know better.
OK, I am finally going to attempt to post a pic of me and the boys and there "toys".
Lolly,
I live in Southeast Wisconsin (Twin Lakes).
We will have to be careful by LaCrosse!
Mountaineer girl, It looks like you have a Corvette in your family too. Where do you live? Your boy's uniforms kind of look like the Wisconsin Badgers.
My wife and I at Woody's with a message for the folks back home..........hey CG, when are you guys going back?
-Bert
Oh, by the way, great tips and web site Richard! The All you can upload one......Thanks.
-Bert
Terri,
yes its a 75 vette, bought brand new by my hubby then. He also has his first new car - a '70 Chevelle SS (396). The 78 TransAm was orginally in the family and we got it back, had it restored.
Our little Class A high school here in WV (Wahama High School) does model our uniforms after Wisconsin - but not exactly - lest we be sued!!!
JImW - Yessir -- the photo is at the Parrot Club in OSJ!! Best mojitos around!
Waterguy - What a wonderful picture and memory of you and your wife. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I am reminded of a quote that I always think of when contemplating taking a vacation that, frankly, we cannot afford.
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you
didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away
from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream.
Discover." - Mark Twain
Aren't you glad now that you spent the time and money in taking your trips to the VI? The memories for you are, I'm sure, priceless. Not to quote a credit card commercial....
Hey Bert - We'll be "wheels down" on the 5th of May and will be on-island until the 12th. 🙂
LandLocked,
Food is good also! I encourage people on at least one of their trips down or back they should stay a few nights in OLD San Juan.
JW
JimW - Yeah, their empanadas are fabulous. And did I mention their mojitos? 🙂
Thanks Landlocked the VI's were her favorite place. Your words are how she lived her life. In Jan 11 of us are headed down to celebrate her life and to spread some of her ashes. So if you see a bunch of people who look like they are having a great time but with tears in their eye's that will be us join us for a drink and some stories.
Waterguy
Well I guess I will join
It is great to faces to names
Waterguy, Thank you so much for sharing your precious picture of you and your wife. You touch my heart every time we hear you speak about her. What a wonderful, smiling face she had! I agree with LLBL, how wonderful that you have your VI memories and will always be able to share your joy there with her in your heart. My husband and I took our first big trip without the kids, now in college or finished, and I am so glad that we just did it, spent the money and had the time of our lives instead of saving longer, and worrying about the rainy day that "might" come. As a cancer survivor, I've learned that nothing is more important than time spent with your loved ones and I'm sure you'd agree.
Waterguy, I agree with CruzBayB and LLBL. Thanks for sharing your memory. I rarely know what to say to people who have lost a loved one. You also touched my heart. I have thought about how you enjoyed the USVI with her and how I am glad that I am going back. Like CBB said, enjoy your life while you are here, because you don't know how long that will be. I am sure that she would have wanted you to continue to go to the USVI. Bless you and take care.
