We're planning a trip in early March and want to combine the land and water experience during our 7-8 day trip. Is there a way to stay in a hotel (or villa) for part, and charter a boat for less than a full week?

The company that I work for, CYOA Charters, has a five day minimum. I do have some friends that do crewed shorter term charters on a 42 Foot Catalina, Interlines Forever Young Captain Larry & Betty Fries. [email protected]

Or you can contact a crewed charter broker. There are some boats that will work in a shorter charter if there is space on their calendar.

There are a few great websites for you to look at. One of them is here. They have a great search engine. Select Saint Thomas, your budget and which month you want to travel and the search engine will display the calendar of the yachts that have availability in one quick look. Once you find the yacht you like, just click on "Have a Question, Ask the Crew .." nd a message is emailed to that particular yacht in question, Emal as many questions as you want ? Ask for deals.

Another "new" website is SailingVacationAuctions.com. Some yachts post their last minute "charter deals". You might find something there. Again, if they don't match your requirements, just ask the seller (the crew in this case) a question.

The above assumes you are looking for a "crewed" charter. Your initial question was not quite clear on that.
