I am going with a few girls for a 4 day getaway. What kind of Shopping can I expect? Purses, jewelry, clothes (knock offs or originals). Suggestions where to go.

Thank you

Brandie, if you're on STT, you can find Coach (two stores with real items - knockoffs in Vendors Plaza), Longchamp on Main Street, sting ray leather, and other assorted purses. STT is the jewelry capital of the Caribbean, so you'll probably be able to find whatever your heart may desire in jewelry here. Larimar with sterling silver is very popular for those looking for less than luxury jewelry with prices starting at about $20 for small pieces and going as high as $500 for necklaces with large stones. I don't buy gold, so I mainly shop at The Tradewinds Store (Waterfront), Gem Casa (Royal Dane Mall), or Captain's Corner (Main St and Waterfront). Oh, and the Caribbean hook bracelet is another good souvenir.

For clothing, Local Color is a big favorite. They're on the Waterfront and in Havensight. They sell island casual. There are also a few other stores in Palm Passage but I can't remember all the names.

If you LOVE shoes, you can easily spend a day shoe shopping, but of course, most of the shoes are best in warm weather. Everybody loves Essentric Shoe Boutique near The Greenhouse, but there's also Footworks on Back Street, The Shoe Tree on the Waterfront, LaVee's near the court house, some store in Lockhart Mall, and we're supposed to be getting Ferragamo soon. Right now they've got the South African Tsonga shoes on sale in Royal Dane Mall. Their shoes are cheaper than online even with no shipping or sales tax. GREAT DEAL!

On St John, there's a great assortment of stores, so don't miss it. Bougainvilla, a very popular ladies boutique, has an annual sale in the summer, and you'll find irresistable deals! I don't know when it'll be, though.

St Croix - well, LindaJ will cover there. I only know of Pacific Cotton.

Shopping?now you're talking ! My favorite store for perfume, cosmetics and just about anything else they carry is AH Riise, they are downtown and Havensight , know your prices before you go, I saved about $20 on my favorite Estee Lauder lotion. Another favorite is the Fresh Produce store downtown, the store is all sportswear, kids and womens, I think they carry Vera Bradley stuff also. At Red Hook are several favorites, I got my hook bracelet at Dolphin Dreams? I think. Also neat shop (keep left?) with Columbia, Life is Good, and other name brands with good quality t-shirts. On StJohn the spice Co. as you get off the people ferry, lots of good stores at Mongoose Junction, 2 of my favorite stores are at the Lime Tree restaurant.

There are some new stores at the new Yacht Haven Grande, not sure what all has opened since we were there in March. Check your cruise ship schedule since a lot of shops aren't open unless it is a cruise ship day. Have fun!
