Are prices set in Virgin Island stores and shops, or is negotiating expected? Is the rule the same in American, British and French areas?*

There are no French or British areas in the US Virgin Islands, I'm guessing you meant elsewhere in the Caribbean. Most prices are set but you can negotiate in jewelry stores and individual vendors too.

Hello John,

In downtown Charlotte Amalie on St. Thomas there are dozens and dozens of jewelry stores and it’s a great idea to shop around, compare prices and negotiate. Not all the jewelry stores will bargain with you, but its worth trying. Outside of jewelry, some electronics & souvenirs from vendors the 'make a deal' game is less of a rule.
