Does anyone know the process that you need to do once your car is on island, as far as getting it registered, plates, so on.? Any tips would be great. Thanks
Go to the relocation site here (see "visit relocation message board" top right of this page) for all the answers. Cheers!
Expect to spend a couple days on it between Customs and DMV. Which island is fial destination?
Ask Tropical or Crowley or whoever you are shipping through for a list of people that can clear your car, they usually will give you 3 or 4 contacts to choose from. It will cost you about $200 but will save you a lot of agrivation.
Good luck
Get an expediter to do all your paperwork and running about - well worth the money and time - the learning curve can be steep for a new arrival - frustrating at the Very least - and way more time consuming than the worth of the effort. You will be glad and best of all ----Driving!
Call tropical. They have a print out of the exact steps you need to do. They can also give you a price, including land shipping. Remember that the boat leaves from Miami.
