I would like anyone who's concerned about the sheep roaming freely in Coral Bay to call the VI department of agriculture at 340-778-0997 or you can email the commissioner at [email protected] with your observations of the sheep's welfare. This is a MAJOR issue the government is aware of, but because of the shortage of staff and lack of space to impound the animals it has gone on uncontrolled. Now the owner is attempting to have his ewes birth 3 babies instead of the normal 1 or 2 without assistance. This means some are dying while lambing. Many are under nourished or injured while roaming loose by cars or dogs. Please help to make St. John a better place for all by leaving your impression of the animals.

Have you contacted Dr. Bethany Bradford?
She's the Vet for the Dept. Of Agriculture.
She's based in STX but travels to both STT and STJ.
She may be able to help.
Her contact numbers 778-0997 or 778-0998 X 241

People need to be held responsible for the care and well being of their animals. Good luck.
