Okay our 50th Birthday celebration is almost put together, we are getting live Caribbean Lobster on the docks from a friend of Sherri's and will cook them in our Villa while watching the sunset....Ahhhhh 😀
Now, I want to set the mood...Chuck just loves steel band music. If anyone knows Caribbean music, I'll bet ya it's you folks!!
Could you recommend two Caribbean music CD's that you love? One, appropriate while drinking "Painkillers", the other, while sipping Champagne?
Thanks for all the advise!
Deb
Hello Deb,
Sounds like a great celebration! If Chuck loves steel band music then how about picking up some Bill Bass or Victor Provost - Bill Bass is on St. Croix and Victor from St. John. If you wanted a band's cd you could look for St. Thomas All Stars or Love City Pan Dragons or the Rising Stars.
And if you want something more party-ish, maybe some Cool Session Brass.
Are you already on island... going to pick up the cd's there?

Thanks Islander!
We're coming down on Easter Sunday so I wanted to get them on-line before we get there....I HATE shopping...rather be one the beach while we are there than in stores!
I will check out those bands on-line!
Deb
www.visuperiorcourt.org click on Rising Stars Steel Band -- they are the best I know of and put on the most amazing shows - their CD's are as good as it gets on STT.
See you soon! (tu)
Thanks for the responses! I went to VItraders.com and purchased two CD's- one of Bill Bass and one of Victor Provost! I couldn't find one on-line of the Rising Stars but will get one when I am down there. What a wonderful organization!

Hello Deb,
In Havensight area there are two music stores; the Music Shoppe and Modern Music. Both should have Rising Stars. If you go to those stores, chat with a sales person and let them know what type of Caribbean music you like... steel pan, calypso, soca, reggae... and ask about local musicians. They can then make suggestions from the cd's they have in stock. Modern Music often has various popular cd's in a listening station, if the albums they suggest are there you can take a listen and see if you like them. At Music Shoppe they usually will play cd's for you to listen to and decide.
Thanks for your order on VItraders.com!
