God bless everyone.

But, on this very sad day of remembrance, may God send a special blessing to America.

I'll ask God to bless the terrorists on another day - not today. May they all have nightmares tonight.

Promo,
Good choice of words!

Read where there are over 17 yellow school buses stolen from the Houston area. Mmmmm....beware of suspicious characters looking out of place driving a big yellow school bus. Likewise, school bus radios have been stolen all over the Northwest. Mmmmm.

Six years after the attack on Pearl Harbor, Adolf Hitler had already been dead and gone for 2 1/2 years.
But today, six years after the attacks, Osama bin Laden is alive and kicking.
The level of incompetence of our non-military leaders and planners over these past 6 years has been truly astonishing and sadly created unnecessary levels of risk for our young men and women in the military.
I pray they can come home soon.

And your inability to understand the current enemy is also amazing. Thank goodness they are there to protect you. Rhetorical question, I find it amazing that there have been no attacks in the past 6 year within our borders as simply that amazing. Maybe it's help by those incompetent non military types??????

Dude, re-read the post. Only talking about the mistakes made by the decision makers in Washington creating more risk for our soldiers in Iraq and the failure to capture Bin Laden.

Dude replies:

Ah, that certainly is stating it a bit differently.

hey, promo, forgetting the anthrax attacks? The "solve" rate for that is as good as the finding binForgotten. The enemy was never Iraq nor was alQ even in Iraq then. When 67 votes can be found to override Bush's veto, they will be coming home! Bush is going to announce 30,000 troops to be withdrawn by next summer! Surge on, surge off! Troops were going to come home anyway, and whatever positive developments exist have nothing to do with the surge.

We do remember what he said about giving the enemy a timetable, but there it is.

And we'll be right back to where we were on Iraq Study Group day. And leaving someone else to come in and clean up all the dung left by his administration.

It's only because of the investment of the Washington Establishment in their own respectability that we're subjected to this elaborate tango in which most people pretend that this has to do with anything other than ensuring George Bush leaves office with his pet war still going..

Too much to answer on a vacation forum. I do love the left being 'anti war, pro soldier'. Now that is a concept I've never understood.

This thread can only go downhill...politics, war, everybody has their own opinion.

Think it's time to take it in pm's.

God bless America and all the soldiers.

Anti-War, pro soldiers,
If I recall correctly on September 12, 2001 the majority of Americans wanted to kill, hurt, disable all Arabs. The enough is enough attitude kicked in, everybody had flag's. The people that operate the 7till11 stores put signs in the windows "were not Arab". The same good guys you refer to said lets do it and sang God Bless America in the front of the Capital. Has the War turned? Yes, it's a civil War within Iraq. Can America be the police force for the world? I think not.
Remember the Marines murdered while sleeping in the barracks in Beirut, The Sailor's Murdered by the attack on the USS Cole, The Embassies bombed, The First attack on the Trade center and the Last Attack. You say this is George Bush's pet war. That's the most unadulterated statement I've heard yet! I hope and pray we do bring our troop's home soon. We went to War without an exit plan, hopefully all our elected official's can come up with one. You Screen name refers to pro soldiers. Well I'M a 27 Year Retired Veteran of the USAF and US Army, as a warrior returning home from Southeast Asia (pro soldier people didn't make me feel to good) so I guess it's the Iraq warrior's now.

Aristotle said of War " War is won , when one side decides they no longer have the will or desire to fight".

I feel a little safer today.

Just a couple of last comments from one from the right who thinks that this war has nothing to do with making America safe since Iraq was never a threat to our security but just happened to be sitting on lots of oil. But as someone who lost a spouse in VietNam there should be absolutely no limit to providing anything and everything to keep our soldiers safe and in the event that fails (like no body armour, not enough correctly equipped humvees, etc) the very best of medical care and attention. Our soldiers families should not be dependant on food banks and food stamps for survival. Lizard, I wasn't aware that those things happened but there are ignorant bigots of all shapes and sizes everwhere but somehow you managed to twist that I said something about the "good guys." Who might they be? Strange that some define terrorism as only coming from the swarthy Arab when we've had Columbine, Va Tech and other horrific acts against masses of people. But guess since those terrorists are white it's not terrorism.
Unfortunately there is no easy answer and there will never be an easy solution. In the meantime we can support the troops by providing for them and their families needs and bringing them home as soon and as safely as possible but to coninue the myth that somehow this war is related to the events of 9/11 is disingenous other than it gave the administration an excuse to do what they had planned.
So let's continue our personal sarcrifices and our hardships during war while the soldiers slog through triple diget heat carrying hundreds of pounds of stuff on their back or have body parts torn away or suffer from tramatic brain injuries so that their lives will never be the same or come home in boxes hidden from view. It is a shame all those truely committed to the war don't rush down and enlist immediately rather than having others do their pleasure.
And Connie is right. Let's get back to vacation and fun.
