Pam at Secret Harbour comes very highly recommended if you need help or a coordinator. Did see pictures of one wedding there that was outstanding. The beach is lovely and the restaurant and bar are on the beach. Think that her website is www.caribbeanoccasions.com

Where do you get the Entertainment books that have rates for Secret harbour? I've stayed there before and truly enjoyed the area.

I am from Michigan, the last retail store that I saw them in was JC Penney,
generally I have got mine from local school groups that sell them as a fund raiser. The card inside is what is used for the hotel discounts. The rate I got for next July was 109.00 a night plus tax. If you need help getting one email me.

I am getting married next July. We are confused on where to stay. We are bringing a dozen family members with us who love to party. Because we are bringing others we thought the only way to go was an all inclusive, The Wydam. (is it true there are 105 steps to get to the beach?)
This board has given me other ideas. Secret Harbour. (where the beach is right outside your door)AND AFFORDABLE
Which one would be more appropiate for a group. Is Secret Harbour close to night life etc.

Gloria,

Secret Harbour is on the East End, what I would call the quite side. You should check with the GM, Ernest and see what they offer at the Resort in the form of night life. I was there a couple of weeks ago which is considered the slow season. There was not much going on at the hotel but we chose the time for specifically that, we needed slow-down therapy. I understand we had just missed the last managers rum party of the season, the Tuesday before we got there. Also I beliee they have live entertainment during the peak season. I would definitely recommend a car, nothing is real close, however, if the goal is to party...you may want to consider a taxi for your night life, the roads are very curveous and it seems as if everything is uphill, drinking and driving would not be wise. Congratulations and I hope everything goes off w/o a hitch for your wedding.

Karen: While Secret Harbour itself is relatively quiet and peaceful, the action is just down the road (3 min) in Red Hook- Duffy's, Caribbean Saloon, Sopchoppy's, Molly Molone's, XO, etc. I feel like a broken record, but there are too many fun spots on St Thomas to stay at an all-inclusive. If you want to be right on a beach Sapphire, Bolongo, Bluebeard's Beach or Secret Harbour would fit your needs. Secret Harbour and Bluebeard's have the added attraction of sunset views...

Hi,
try www.entertainment.com for the coupon book if no one is selling it in your area. They also have discount coupons for Co and Delta will honor the Co coupon if you fly them (but you have to buy your Delta ticket either at the airport or a Ticket Office for the discount if you use the 2002 coupon. In '03 they are in the book). The car discounts offered in the discount book are not good in the USVI.
SHBR is very peaceful and quiet and has one of the prettiest beaches on the island, imo. The units are condo units so you have the advantage of dining in if you choose. However I would say that as a party place it might not live up to expectations (thankfully - altho I understand your desire to party!). Like EastEnder, I agree that all inclusive is not the best way to experience the island but all inclusive might feel like it's a bigger bang for your buck and for your guests. Yes, there are many steps to the beach from the Wyndham accomodations but I am really unfamiliar with the property. They do have themed buffets each nite (with very mixed reviews) and if it's all inclusive that you really want, you might check with Marriott since they traditionally offer it off-season at their properties.
Red Hook has lots of options for dining and partying. EastEnder mentions some of them and East End has excellent dining choices not only in Red Hook but at other spots too like Bonnie's, Seafood Jungle, Raffles and other places nearby. You catch the ferry to the BVI's and St. John in Red Hook also.
If it is the condo/resort that works, you might also look at the Elysian since it is beachfront also but not quite as beachfront as the beachfront rooms at SHBR but you will be pretty much on your own or using an off site coordinator there. .
