I am planning a second wedding for June 2002 and have a few questions...what is the best location for a beach/sunset wedding on St. John? Who offers the best airfare from Los Angeles? We are staying on a private sailing yacht and would like to have dinner in a very nice restaurant after the ceremony for about 8 people, any suggestions? Is there a salon on St. John? And my last question is...does anyone have a great website to look at that has informal wedding dresses that are kind of tropical? Thanks for any help you can give me!! My email is [email protected]

Marsha,
I am getting married (2nd marriage) on St. John on May 9. We made our arrangements through a company called Weddings the Island Way (Weddingstheislandway.com) and the wedding will be on Hawksnest Beach just before sunset.
If you want to e-mail me for info. when we return (after May 15) I will fill you in on any tips I can give you.
I have not made a definite decision or a reservation but from what I have read, I think we will go to dinner at Asolare. Read about it...
We found names of ministers and wedding coordinators on these websites so I am sure you have probably found the same people.
Let me know if I can help any more.

I used to live on St. Thomas, but went to St. John regularly. My husband and I were married on St. Thomas. We also used Weddings the Island Way, and they did a WONDERFUL job. If you choose them, you are making a great choice. (If Jessica still works there, use her as your consultant)

Asolare is an AWESOME restaurant. It's very formal and the service and food is impeccable.

As for where to find a great dress...I had my wedding outside when it was very hot. I found a beautiful dress at a store called The White House (they have them all over the country), and we had our pictures taken on the beach...it was perfect. You may also consider having a dress made. (Much less expensive than buying one, and you will have a unique dress). Try not to buy a dress that has a lining...if it's hot, it will stick to you and you will be royally uncomfortable!!!

Best of luck!!!
