Thanks for the very useful information from this forum. We had a wondeful trip to VI. I couldn't find any review about the villa we stayed so here is my input.

We also had a wonderful trip with a charter boat to BVI which I am putting together a review.

The Sea Blossom is located at the beginning of Fish Bay road. It was very nice that we had a greeter to lead us there. We would have a very hard to time to find this place by map. I wonder if this is the farthest rental villa on this side of island. It was a little drive to get there. But we traded distance for money. We had enough friends to entertain ourselves so it wasn’t so bad to miss the night life at Cruz Bay. While the villa doesn’t have the greatest of everything, it has the basic of everything and a little bit of all the typical villa things. It has a deep small pool with plenty of water toys which we had fun with for a couple of afternoons, air conditioning in every bedroom, a Fish Bay view, plenty of covered porch and outdoor furniture and all bedrooms have its own bathrooms. Personally, I feel it was a great value. We had a wonderful time staying there.

The road to get there was 99% well-paved but sometimes very steep. And once awhile, there would be some reckless or not so skillful drivers who would drive half off the cliff or stuck at a turn which can lead to road closure. We were stuck twice in a week by such incidents. The first time, a jeep wrangler was kind of half hanging off the road. The 2nd time, the day we were leaving, an 18-wheeler was stuck at a steep turn. The road was so narrow that a jogger had to crawl under the truck in order to get through. We called our car rental company and villa rental and told them that we were stuck and would happily check out late.

One thing I really liked about this villa was its two conjunct bedrooms downstairs of the main building. It was a very convenient design for my husband, our 2-year toddler and I.

There are a few downsides of this villa. I don’t think they were major issues, especially when we only stayed there for a week but I think they should be mentioned. The first downside is the water pressure. Only one bathroom could be used for comfortable showering at a time. If someone is taking a shower in one bathroom, the shower in the other bathroom would literally be stopped or become trickled. It took me a couple of days to figure that out. The water problem also affected laundry time. It was longer for washer to load enough water. The 2nd downside is that the bedroom that is located at the same level as the living room in the main building doesn’t have its wall all the way up to the ceiling. It is more like a big cubicle with nice proper bedroom atmosphere and a door. People who stayed at this bedroom would have less privacy and can be disturbed by the activity in the living room. Also, the air conditioning can be leaking out so it might not be as cool. The 3rd downside is that there is no air conditioning in the living room. If we use the screen window, it wasn’t really much cooler, but a lot of bugs would still fly in. We ended up with a lot of bites next day. Therefore, we only used the screen windows and screen doors the first day and keep them closed for the rest of the week.

CLCL, thanks for the review of Sea Blossom. So many people come here asking about it. Lots of villas are built how you describe - a large pod with rooms inside and walls that don't go all the way up.

WOW about the truck getting stuck and the jogger having to crawl under. Scary!
