I know people are routinely seeking advice on this message board about good day sails and other excursions while in the VI. Having been to the VI numerous times, my wife and I have chartered many boats for day sails. Our experience last week with Captain Joe and his boat Scubadu was truly unforgettable. The boat is clean, high quality, spacious and comfortable. Joe is an unbelievable host and chef. I highly recommend avoiding the "cattlemarans" unless you enjoy getting close with about 40 people you have never met. He has set a six person maximum for his charters which is nice. We were traveling with another couple and paid $700 for the day (the price included a gourmet lunch and all of our drinks, of which, he had a huge selection). Since there were four of us, it totaled $175/person, which was a much greater value than the $125/person you commonly pay for the overcrowded boats. We had no agenda when we set sail; he left it entirely up to us. I would recommend chartering his boat to anyone visiting. His contact information can be found at www.sailvi.com.
