Hello, We are planning a trip to St. Thomas. We're looking to do some scuba diving. Does anyone have any tips on the best dive company to go with? I see there are a couple to choose from. Thanks for the help. JAmon

Dove 3 days last week with Blue Island Divers. Truely felt like a friend when we left. Couldn't have asked for a better dive experience. Never knew St Thomas had so many and such big shipwrecks. They put us on a different wreck every day, each one better then the last.
Would recommend them for sure.

My family and I have been diving in St Thomas with two dive shops. Dive-In on Sapphire Beach and Aqua Action at Secret Harbor. Of the two I'd recommend Aqua Action.

We were diving with Aqua Marine, they pick us up, drop us off and were just great. The boat is fast and we were diving sites form St John to East End and wracks in West End. They were amazing with kids and done extra stops to show them turtles. We will go back, they are new but know what they are doing and the dives were just us and no rushing, just enjoy. The gear is brand new... Check their web www.diveaquamarine.com

Sort of depends in part where you're staying. Blue Island is great but leaves out of Crown Bay Marina. We've had many wonderful dives with them.

Thank you everyone. I called the hotel and the two close to where we are staying are Admiralty and Underwater Safaris. Has anyone dive with either of else. Thanks again.

If you are staying at Frenchman's Reef or Cove, Underwater is their dive operator and will pick you up at the dock there. They will probably be limited to southern and west end dives. Feel free to get a taxi to one of the other spots for more dive sites.

Try a different shop every day and I guarantee you will have a great time. Each facility has their own specialties and they are geared to make sure their divers have the best possible time.

Duane and Laura at Admirality are friends of mine and I dive with them on a regular basis. They do a nice job on the south and western dive sights, including several wrecks, around St Thomas. They also offer packages for multi day dives. I also wouldn't rule out going out east for a day or two and diving with one of the East End companies as well, like Red Hook Dive Center as you will get to see some different dive sights.

Admiralty

As for Underwater Adventures, they have large catamaran/pontoon boats that take large numbers of people diving from the Marriot and the cruise ships. If that's your thing go for it.

I know that the dive shops in St Thomas all work together and have a good relationship. Perhaps a number of them should get together and put together a Dive Package where people get to dive at different shops on different days. Put a package price on it and promote it heavily. It would be a great way for divers to dive the variety of dive sites around the islands etc.

We've used Admiralty dive center the last time we were there. Plan to use them again as well as try Aqua Action this year since we will be right near them. Duane and Laura at Admiralty dive Center are real nice and knowledgeable people.
