IMHO, Coki Beach Dive Club would best fir your needs. And Peter and Laura probably have the best prices for Discover SCUBA, too. Check them out at http://www.cokidive.com/ and tell them that Marty sent you. They will treat you right.

Hello Kevin,

Colette at http://www.6paqscuba.com focuses on lessons & dives for folks with varying levels of experience from none to those that are certified.

Another option is http://www.sawyerdive.vi/

Chris Sawyer Dive Center- sawyerdive.vi- is the number one organization year after year.

I am going at the end of this month and also have someone that has never been. I looked into a few and the Sawyer diving group was extremely helpful and took the time to explain their operation to me. I would definitely check into that by looking at the above website that Islander posted along with giving them a call on their toll free number.

I've dived Coki, Chris Sawyer & Blue Island Divers, & I can tell you with no reservations, Blue Island was WAY the best! Much smaller outfit, much more personal attention for beginners, top notch teachers, and better dive sites on their side of the island. They use Mares gear, good quality. They do package deals with several hotels now, you might look into one.

Chris Sawyer's very good, but the groups were too big, you get a lot less bottom time with a bigger outfit, and a beginner would get a lot less atttention.

PADI's Discover SCUBA courses are great to get you started, less to learn, gets you into the water faster. Then if you love it & decide to go on to the Open Water certification, the part you've already done counts towards it. All 3 of the outfits mentioned above do all levels of PADI certifications, no problem.
