We're staying at the Sapphire Beach Resort & Marina in two weeks, we have made reservations for a beachfront villa. Is there a specific villa I should request?

the buildings are lettered A closest to lobby/noise, B, C, (with direct beachfront on main beach, D, overlooking pool/bar and rocky beach(best view though) E overlooking rocky beach, then the Marina view, not beachfront although they put a strip of sand out front. you may not have much choice, as I think the resort only owns 15 units in the whole complex. the rest are condo's and are rented out through different management firms. Make sure you know whom you are actually renting from, if not dealing directly through the resort, you may experience confusion as the front desk will have no record of you unless you're renting directly from them. Have a great stay!

We booked thru travelocity...which books thru Antilles Resorts....that owns alot of the condo's. We were in building 'C' on the lower level. It was AWESOME!!! Be very careful there now...there was a mugging there recently. When we stayed there begining of Dec, we never locked our patio doors. WE left them open all nite to listen to the waves. Will not to that next time tho!!
Enjoy....& if you think you could use some assistant in geting around....fly me down & I'd be glad to check places out for you, or tell you what we did in our 8 days!!!

So it sounds like I should probably be in "C" if I want a great view and the most private place. It sounds like "A" by the lobby and "D" by the pool would be a little bit louder.
Also, I booked through expedia...will there be any confusion when I get there? Thanks

Hi,

We stayed in building E, right next to the marina, end unit (facing beach and marina), with L shaped wrap around desk on two levels.

This to me was the BEST location at saphire beach resort:

1) Quiet, away from all the noise (pool, bars, bands), we love all 3, but on our terms, when we want it.

2) Marina view to the right (watch boats leave in the morning, clean and display thier catch later in the day)

3) Great view of beach and st. John at night. You can also catch sunset behind the unit.

4) Felt very safe walking at night and around compound.

5) My kids (age 16, 17 and 20) said is was the best vacation ever!

Bldg C is best. B is also good. Avoid A unless you want to have a very short walk to the bar/restaurant/lobby...it's too close = too noisy/lit up.

As a point of information: Antilles does not own condos, it is a rental management company. They manage condo units in several associations.

See....I knew it was too confusing!!
Even when I asked at the front desk for anything...they wanted to know which unit I was in cuz there was a sheet of who was renting out which units for different prices!
Is there actually owners that rent out their units directly?

The best location is really a matter of preference. I personally prefer the A building because it is the closest to the best part of the beach. The music on the nights they have it is very enjoyable and I go out on my balcony to listen. If I am in the room with the sliders closed and curtains drawn it is pretty muted, and is no bother.
All of the views are great, with the possible exception of the F building on the Marina. The units are all 20 or 30 yards from the water so you really can't go wrong.
If anyone is interested in renting directly they can contact me and I can probably help them out. Also, I am sending a young couple down for their honeymoon in July and I put together a document outlining things to do, restaurants, trips etc. I will be glad to email it to anyone who is interested.

We booked thru expedia and had no problem at all with the front desk. We stayed in Building A. We sat on our patio at night and enjoyed the music. If you close the doors you can barely hear the music except for on Friday and Saturday they brought in a bigger band and it was louder. Personally, I don't think there is a bad building to stay in. I guess I wouldn't want to be over by the marina. But even there, they charge less for the rooms and it's a two minute walk to the beach

Sitter: I don't know the answer to your question re: Sapphire. There is another interesting thing in that there are several condo associations on Sapphire: Sapphire Beach, Sapphire Village, Sapphire West and Crystal Cove. If there are others, that only goes to show how confusing it is. Some condo associations allow owners to rent short-term; I see ads for Sapphire Village and Point Pleasant frequently. Some condo associations do not allow it, for example, Secret Harbour is leased short-term only through the hotel management group.

yvette: There IS no fast food in the Virgin Islands. Even places like Wendy's and McDonald's are S-L-O-W!! 😉

The only decent restaurant in the Sapphire complex is Azure, at Sapphire Village. But Red Hook isn't far away and has several watering holes and restaurants.
