Hey-
I am trying to figure out the difference in the Sapphire Beach Club, Village and Marina, when it comes to condo rentals for vacation?! Also, can you walk to restaurants or take shuttles or buses, or do you ideally need a car.
Thanks!!:-)
The Sapphire Village condos are up on the hill closer to the main road, the Sapphire Beach and Marina condos are much closer to (some directly on) the beach. You definitely need to rent a car for your visit to be able to explore at your leisure. There's so much to do and see and many restaurants all over the island to enjoy. Taxis charge per person (you'll find the rates if you scroll down on "St Thomas" top of this page) and the fares add up very quickly. For instance, just to get into Red Hook which is a 5 minute drive from Sapphire will cost you $5 per person each way. If you haven't seen it, here's the Sapphire webcam:

It's a gorgeous beach and best advice is to work with private owners though http://www.vrbo.com so you can see exactly what you're getting. Have a great time!
