I'm looking at a 2009 fold out map and I cant seem to find Samual Cottages and it's location on it along with St. John Inn to see if it's easy to pull 1 suitcase of rolling luggage. Could someone please give me some landmarks on the map? Samual Cottages don't have a map on there website to try to figure this out. Thanks in advance
Samuels Cottages are just before the first bend when heading out of Cruz Bay on Centerline Road - so past Dolphin Market and they are on the right just before the first left bend. STJ Inn is located on the road to the right just before Tamarind Court - about 3/4 of the way down on the left (past all of the car rentals)
Hope that helps

Thanks Pia for the directions. Do you think it's to far to walk with a rolling suitcase or would I stick out and have the locals laugh at me?
You can do it - I have family that have "rolled" to the STJ Inn and I have seen people rolling to Samuels as well 🙂

Which one is the furthest hike? Should I say. lol
Just a thought, you might just pay one of the taxi's to drive you there, it might cost you $5.00 at most.
Thanks RM I didnt think of that. Do you think he would take me to the nearest grocery store if I asked him before heading to the cottages? Or is it within walking distances to the cottages? Do the taxi drivers give out phone numbers to call if and when your ready for a ride or do you have to walk down into Cruz Bay?
You can take a taxi to STJ Inn or Samuels no problem - if you are staying at Samuels, Dolphin Market is probably a 1 min walk at most and idf at STJ Inn Starfish is probably a 4 min walk (ish) 🙂

Taxicab
From Wikipedia,
A taxicab, also taxi or cab, is a type of vehicle for hire, with a driver, for a single passenger, or small group of passengers, typically for a non-shared ride. A taxicab conveys passengers between locations of their choice.
Samuel Cottages is very close to town and even closer to Dolphin Market. It is a easy incline walk from town and you will pass Dolphin Market on the way. I suggest you take your luggage to the cottage and drop it off and walk back down to Dolphin to get groceries. It will take you about 10 minutes to walk to the cottages, and about 3 minutes to walk back down to Dolphin. I used to live at Villa Lee Anna (seperated from Samuel Cottages by one house) and I walked most of the time because it was easier (no need to find parking in town, which can be difficult at times). In comparison to Tamarind Inn and St. John Inn, I think I would choose Samuel Cottages because it is on a main road that is well lit. Not trying to say that there is a lot of crime in the other areas, just as a single female, I had no hesitation or worry walking home to Villa Lee Anna alone, even late at night.
Thank you so much for your replies. It looks like the Samuel Cottages might be the way I would go. Just a few more questions I thought of. Has anyone ever been inside 1 of these 3 cottages ( I think 3) to know what the view is like or if each cottage gets there own private deck for sitting and viewing? And I assume they have there own private kitchens and bathrooms?
We are staying at Samuel Cottages next week. I will report back when we return. They have a website that shows updated pictures inside and out. From what I have read cabin #3 has the best view. Cabin #1and 2 have cable and #3 does not. I have only seen good reviews. I will let you know what we think.
Thanks so much Poolmom. I cant wait to read your report...
