This may sound like a dumb question to some but why do some of the villas, etc. mention they have salt water pools and others fresh water? I know cruise ships have salt water pools but why would properties do this?

Many people prefer salt water ppols because of personal comfort. They are said to leave your skin feeling much softer than a packaged chlorine pool. Also, algae control is far superior with salt water.

Sapphire used to have a salt water pool. It has since been filled in.
