Has anyone done a half or full day sail on this boat through bookitvi? I'd love some opinions. We're very interested in finding snorkling opportunities off Coral Bay which we haven't done before on previous trips and hubbie the sailor always needs a sailing fix. I'd love to know what you think of the boat, crew and snorkling spots. Their canned response to my inquiry mentioned Pelican Rock, Flanagan Island, Newfound Bay, Tektiten, and Booby Rock- all unknown names to me. Thanks!

I've always thought of bookitvi.com as a site for may different charters. Is this sailing charter the only one?

I have no idea, I haven't spend much time looking at it because I really don't care about the sailing end of it- already had my fill on Buzzards Bay for years. I'm always "suspect" of anything that seems to be managed by a company and you get canned answers to questions. Maybe they are great which is why I wanted to ask for past experience opinions. Hubbie wants the sailing end of it so I should make him get more involved. Its our 5th trip to STJ so we aren't sweatin' much, already know we'll be happy with whatever!

Karrieb,

Rick & Robin do a great job on Long Distance. Rick now stays within US waters because of the new paperwork rules that were passed by Homeland security. Another great charter out of Coral Bay is Capt. Clark Beam on White Wing. Clark does a fantastric job, and still sails to the BVI's. I believe he won't be back on-island until around Thanksgiving.

Did the 1/2 with them in May 2005. Rick/Robin are nice people. She's a former nurse. They do not run a "wild party boat". Had a nice time (other than my queasy tummy--decided I'm not a sail boat type). Took us to nice snorkeling spots and Robin likes to get in the water with you to show you the neat stuff. Whatever you decide, have a great trip!

Hi Guys!

Sorry I won't be there to have a beer with you and to go out on Glory B! We are still in Albuquerque, but nearing the end of our stay, and we hope to be back home in January (maybe). All seems to be going well with me, but Irene still has a bad wing :-(.

Have fun in the islands!

Max

Max, you sound very positive, I will share this happy email with Chuck! We too wish we were planning a Glory B trip with you- folks, this guy is an EXPERT sailor and GREAT host along with his wondeful Irene! Sorry to hear about Irene's shoulder/arm- how frustrating!! I did a smaller injury to my arm a couple of months ago and fully sympathize with her now. Anyway, this won't be our last trip of course so we will plan on ONLY TWO beers and a great sail the next time with you, Irene, and Glory B! Take care.
Thanks for the recommendations Lizbeth and Windborn, it always helps to know that something is worth checking out.

We did an extended snorkel and sunset sail with Rick and Robin back in April. Very nice people. We sailed out to Flanagan Island which was a rather deep snorkel with lots of coral and schools of fish. I believe that they will also do mangrove snorkeling if you are looking for something new to try. You should have a nice time with them. Use this number to call direct, it saves Captain Rick the booking fee. 340-513-1386
