I bought some gifts when I was on St. John and thought that I did a good job packing them. They were double wrapped in paper and placed in a personal sized coleman cooler with additional paper packed in..I guess that wasn't enough. Every morning my husband and I have coffee together before we leave for work. Every place we go we get coffee cups so we usually end up talking about that particular place or maybe just think about it. So, you can see the tragedy here. I'm going to try superglue and if that doesn't work? I'm still going to use it...with caution and plenty of bandaids. As for the little gecko figurine? I guess my husband will have to use the other two turtles for card markers! The rum made it just fine! 🙂

Usually I don't buy tshirts because I end up not wearing them. I never want another "Florida" tshirt as long as I live! LOL
When I found this shirt I just had to have it! You can see why! It's so cute but what is Dive Dock? I didn't go there.

Dream, you're stirring it up again. Don't mention the K word unless you want some trouble.

But hey, those t shirt ideas were pretty funny to most of us.

Darlene,

I'm pretty sure the "Dive Dock", is the harrowing jump from Ronnie's deck, into his neighbor's hot tub.

Aw, look at that poor little decapitated lizard. 🙁

And I still don't know why people get so uptight about the kenny chesney thread. *scratching my head*

Anyway, I'm sorry your stuff got broken. 🙁 I guess that means you'll just have to make another trip back! 😉

I've seen them throw the luggage around at STT...and I do mean THROW...it is very sad but unfortunately not surprising that your stuff got broken.

The need for new souveniers is a good excuse to go back though, right? 🙂

Next time just keep them in your carry-on.

Thanks all for you kind words... Mountaineer girl-> I don't drink very much so I though these would make nice gifts with the broken spoon rest and busted lizard, LOL. Really, I don't drink much.. I haven't even opened them. For my husbands family they would be apps! I also heard terrible things about the airport in San Juan so I didn't dare put anything too nice in my suitcase.

When we had a 3 hour layover in San Juan, or luggage was out on the luggage trolly in the rain. Once we got to STT and opened up our suitcases in our room, our clothes were soaking wet. We had to air everything out.

Hi Darlene,
I am sorry. I am a constant lurker here, for months, as I prepared for my trip back to STT in 3 weeks. I am not sure if you are near me (Philly) but I could pick you up another mug on our day trip to St John (or your cute lizard if you tell me where). I could pack in my carry-on so they don't break. Just an idea ... hope you don't think I am strange (since you don't know me) but I loved your coffee story.

Just let me know.
Take care,
Megan

You'll get more on your next trip. I agree about this being a reason to go back.

Your rum made it! 🙂
