Are the trails on St John suitable for running? I will be staying at the Westin Resort mid/late June and would like to keep up with training while there. I understand the streets are very narrow, so it sounds like running them is out. Does anyone know if the Westin has a "jogging" path?

The paths around the Westin are made for walking - you would probably have to dodge pedestrians and whizzing golf carts. The joggers we did notice were on the roads just outside of Cruz Bay. There isn't a huge amount of traffic but roads can be narrow and winding. There are portions of the islands which are quite steep.

Hello Scott,

Some of the trails are ok for running. The Cinnamon Bay trail close to the ruins is fairly flat and even. Reef Bay trail is steep but I have run on parts of that trail as well - you have to keep an eye out for roots and rocks so you don't trip. Even if you don't run the Reef Bay trail just walking it is great excercise. You can run along the beach or swim laps as an alternative. The Westin has a gym so you could excercise there. Running along the roads is Ok just stick to the ones with less traffic and stay close to the edge so you can move off the road (sometimes into the grass) if you have to.
