Anyone know where to buy "Rum Chata" on Stt asap? It's a cream rum.
I hear it is hard to find:-(
Thanks in advance!
Haven't heard of it, haven't seen it - but the Cruzan rum cream is fabulous and readily available!
Someone new is also doing rum cream in small batches starting with 2 oz bottles. She'll deliver to your location.
Cruzan makes a very good rum cream that you can sample in some places that sell it. It's also sold at some farmers' markets.
Thanks, STT Res. & ms411
Don't know about the other, but the Cruzan rum cream is WONDERFUL.
The person that wants this Rum Chata says it tastes like rice pudding (that's why they want it). Also, it is white cream rum.
What does the Cruzan cream rum taste like and the color of it? I never had the opportunity to taste it 🙁
I get it now thanks to Google. It's the Mexican drink, horchata, with rum added. I had somebody bring me some horchata mix from the States, and tried it with rum. The taste is similar to rum cream, but rum cream is richer. I'm out of horchata mix, and couldn't find it in Ft Lauderdale, so will have to find it elsewhere or buy online.
The Cruzan rum cream is a creamy color and tastes like, well, rum and cream. VERY tasty. I wonder what recipe someone's using to make rice pudding if a rum cream reminds them of it! 😀
They're not making rice pudding with it. They like the rum chata because it tastes like rice pudding. Rum cream is more similar to thick eggnog without nutmeg.

As I said,. "I wonder what recipe someone's using to make rice pudding if a rum cream reminds them of it! " Translation - I can't imagine that any of the rum cream liqueurs could remind anybody of the taste of traditional rice pudding ...

A yummy recipe!!!
I checked AH Riise, Cost You Less, and Gourmet Gallery today. Nobody has rum chata. So you might want to consider Ponche Kuba or Cruzan Rum Cream. Or horchata mix with Cruzan dark rum.
Cruzan rum cream has been discontinued, but we are getting the rum chata in soon! But still don't have an ETA..sorry.
Thank goodness for absolutecrucian.com! Their rum cream is delicious.
Greetings and Happy Holidays. We previously purchased Rum Chata (Horchata Con Ron) from Dynasty Dazzler's in St. Thomas, with their claim of sole source for the product. Unfortunately, for some unknown reason, they do not carry the item any longer.
We love this product in our French Toast Casserole. The Rum Chata is used in lieu of milk. The bread is soaked with it over night and served the next morning for breakfast. Yummy. The Rum Chata has an awesome cinnamon flavor that is ideal for all drinks and foods that contain cinnamon in the recipe (or just the love of cinnamon). We keep the bottle in the freezer.
Rum Chata is a Real Horchata, 13.75% Alc/Vol, produced and bottled in Wisconsin consisting of Real Dairy Cream and Premium Caribbean Rum (w/natural & artificial Flavors).
I am down to 2 bottles and hope that WINEGURL will be able to provide this product in the future on St. Thomas. It is delicious and does not compare to Cruzan Rum Cream or any other Rum Cream out there. It is truly unique.
Winegurl: Please let us know if you get a shipment and where we can purchase!!
CynthiaD...Please share your French toast casserole recipe in which you use Rum Chata in place of milk. It sounds delicious!
hm... if you like this, i assume you will like coquito... they have a coquito festival every year on st. croix at the la reine chicken shack... a lady named joanne who bakes cakes, delivered coquito here on st. thomas this year. got me a mini bottle to enjoy on the christmas day. was tasty!
I recall spotting some Rum Chata at the Mountain Top gift shop 2 weeks ago.
Greetings. Went to Mountain Top today. They do not carry Rum Chata.
I am in Atlanta for the holidays and RunChata is available here. I can bring some to you if you like.
