Hello all.
We are staying at the Morningstar resort and I have a question about the 'salesman' on the beaches.
Have been to numerous beach destinations and they seem to all have 1 thing in common...peddlers.
They don't bother me in the least but do change the atmosphere of the scenery. In MX, they were walking up and down the beach selling everything from drugs to jewelry.
Just wondering if the morningstar beach shares the same environment?
I am not against the vendors as they are trying to make a living just like everyone else, I am just curious.
Thanks.
good afternoon
i too have encountered what you described at other caribbean destinations. have lived here 18 months and visit the local beaches often, never have i seen any vendors combing the beaches...well, unless you count the bar folks taking orders on the beach at magens...hee hee. not a problem here. enjoy your visit.kathy
Hello,
The only beach on St. Thomas that has lots of vendors is Coki Beach. Magens Bay has beach wait staff that take drink orders but they just walk up and down saying Cocktails and if you want one you wave to them or get their attention... at Coki they approach you for drinks, chairs, hair braiding and more. Morningstar doesn't have vendors. Beaches like the ones at Ritz Carlton and Wyndham have one or two booths set up on the side that if you wanted to go buy something you could but they aren't actively hawking their wares at you while you are laying in the sand or swimming etc.
So overall the only beach that comes to mind is Coki Beach.

Wife and I stayed at frenchmans last week and we were on morningstar beach quite a bit and our room overlooked it. It is pretty secluded from the rest of the island and I never once saw any peddlers. In fact, the only peddling we got all week were from the taxi drivers and they weren't bad about it.
Just what I wanted to hear. Thanks everyone.
