Could anyone advise me as to the procedure to obtain a nursing license to work in St. Thomas. I currently hold licensure in LA and have in NY before moving. Thanks
Just go to STT as a travel nurse, and your company will make all the arrangements for any change in licensure you might require. You'll also get your housing paid for.
I'm all set up with housing, car rental, all that - just the license stuff and I was hoping to have a better understanding of what is required myself. The recruiter has let me know this is the last thing we need to do and I'm waiting to hear from him. Guess I'm kind of impatient by nature. Thanks
How long are you going to be there? From what I just found by sleuthing on the Internet, if it's not a permanant position they may just honor the license you currently hold.
What company do you travel for? My brother is with RN Network.

Linda: That does not bode well for an assignment in the Virgin Islands. The board of nursing licensure is on the 5th floor of the hospital. I don't have the number handy, but if you call the hospital operator at 340-776-8311 and ask her to direct your call.
My wife has been jumping through hoops with the whole VI RN license. After several months she is getting somewhere and actually has a VI RN lic. number now but still no physical license. We'll be down there in a month or so and she will have to appear before the issuing authority, prove she is who she says she is and have them take her photograph for the license. If you have any questions for her we can do it via e-mail or IM if you use yahoo.
