I need advice on ritz carlton rooms: types, location, best value, if renovated or not......
Since i read mixed reviews I just want to make sure before reserving.....
Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

They have a wide range of rooms, from the standard 2 person, hotel room, to the massive multi-roomsuites, to the condos for their timeshare section. Best value really depends on what you are looking for. The rooms are in the middle of being renovated now (I work for the painting contractor that is doing the paint there), so some are done, and some are in the middle and some are not. Kind of a crap shoot as to the one you get being done yet or not. Guess you could request one that has recently been renovated. Mixed reviews are because some people that stay at other Ritz' around the world expect it to be like other Ritz'...it's not. But for STT, it's fantastic. http://www.ritzcarlton.com/resorts/st_thomas/

I have stayed in renovated, and unrenovtyed rooms there. They are both beautiful. It's a win win situation. There is nothing to complain about in the unrenovated rooms from my point of view.

Thank you for your answers!
Do you think is a good idea to book directly through the hotel?
Or have you got any suggestions about other websites to try first?
