Due to our flight arrival (3:40 PM) into STT, there’s a high likelihood that we may not make the last RH car ferry to STJ. I’ve read here that we could park our rental car at the REH ferry & take the people ferry over to STJ. Not having direct experience with this, our only concern / question for those with direct experience is:
What is the safety & security like at the RH Ferry parking lot in terms of a night security guard, lighting etc? We will have a soft top jeep and will of course will leave nothing in the jeep as an invitation.

What say you?

Thanks so much! 🙂

I wouldn't be worried. The last car ferry leaves at 7:00. Unless you have to stop on your way to Red Hook it shouldn't even take an hour, at most. You might want to go to the Trip Advisor forum on St. John. More posts, & posters, on this subject. I've always received more replies there.

Check out the post on "Trip Advisor, St. John Forum 9/20. Unusual Car Barge Question. This should reassure you.

Heres the link to that Trip Advisor post/thread - www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g147409-i432-k3937262-Unusual_Car_Barge_Question-St_John_U_S_Virgin_Islands.html

There should be no reason at all for you to miss the last car barge given your arrival time on STT so I agree not to sweat it.

EE, as much as I very much respect your posts and your continued help towards people on this visitors forum and the relocation forum, I have to take umbrage at your comment about TA which seems to be very disparaging. Cheers!

I don't think it is a great idea to refer people to other boards but I don't think there was anything disparaging said. It is the truth that that forum is much more active than this one.
I am a member of several VI travel communities; some are very active, some are not as active, but they are all helpful in their own way. Tim did not say that another forum was better or worse, just more active...not really disparaging at all

Res: Trip Advisor seems to have a lot of disgruntled travelers who post. I dunno.. advice from them or from the sweethearts of Vinow? Seems pretty clear to me!;)
