..after the infamous "floods of November2003". We are staying in the Westin (they were gracious enough to give everyone there during the rains a coupon for 4 free nights) We will be there July 3rd -10th; any special events during this time?? Thanks
Perfect timing. Carnival will be going on the weekend of the 4th on St. John.
What is Carnival???
What! 😉 Many people will tell you what Carnival is, but my interpretation is that of a one day Mardi Gras type celebration with a day long parade. Many brilliant costumes, dancing, and celebration. It is a Carribean wide festival. You should have a lot of fun!

The big parade is usually a one day affair, but most of the Carnivals here include several weeks if not months of related festivities: pageants, food fairs, carnival rides, calypso competitions, etc. When you arrive on Saturday ask at the front desk and they should be able to tell you all about the various events.
