I'll be staying close to red hook for a week, any recommendations for dinners at that end of the island?

Blue Moon Cafe at Secret Harbour. If you branch out to the west end, try the North Drop near Hull Bay. Great!

MJ:

I copied and pasted my post from 04/11/05 (see below). Others chimed in and named even more. You can go back and find them if you wish. Here is my list:

Duffy's Love Shack - decent drinks, music (dj), inexpensive but mediocre food. More of a party place.

Molly Malones - Irish pub with bar food and entrees

Caribbean Saloon - Sports bar with bar food (of course) and entrees as well

East Coast Cafe - Mainly pasta dishes (we did not eat there..... IMHO a little on the expensive side).

Bistro XO - In shopping plaza where Duffy's is. Little place with bar food.

The Frigate - Steak house (changed ownership..... may be named something else)

Burito Deli - Breakfast and lunch

Off the Hook - Seafood Restaurant

Ice Cream Shop (name?) - Hey..... who doesn't love ice cream.

Well from memory, thats the best I can do. Hopefully others will chime in.

tmax listed Red Hook restaurants (good memory!) Frigate is currently closed. Add Sopchoppy's in American Yacht Harbor for pizza overlooking the marina. Cold Stone Creamery for expensive ice cream!

Also, my favorite east end place: Restaurant Azure at Sapphire Village for wonderful seafood (and more) with Asian influences. They have a popular Thai night on Thursday, also. Yum!

Out on the Nazareth peninsula: Robert's and Bonnie's at the Elysian and Arthur's at the Anchorage all on Cowpet Bay. (In addition to Blue Moon named above.)

We enjoyed Off the Hook. Great location on the water. Also Fungis. It is literally right on the water.
