We're coming to St. Thomas in March and staying in Frenchtown. We're pretty familiar with the area etc. but I'm looking for a place where we can grab something to eat on the night we arrive and also breakfast the next morning. Our flight doesn't get in until 9:00 p.m. and by the time we get to our room and check in, I'm guessing it will be after 10:00. Is there any place that's open that late on a week night and is also within walking distance of Frenchtown? We don't need anything fancy. We'll be traveling all day and I'm sure we'll be ravenous by the time we finally get to St. Thomas. We'll just need food! And maybe some rum....
I wouldn't walk around that area at that time of night - just my opinion....unless you are going to eat at someplace as close as across the street.
Not much down there is open late...and what is isn't where I would go. Maybe others can offer more. There's probably some little spot I don't know about.
Eperney in Frentown serves food late + it's a cool little wine and champange bar - perfect cure for Jet lag
if your apt/unit has a fridge, ask if you can have it pre-stocked!
Ok, if Epernay is open and serving late, I would go there...just to clarify.
Epernay sounds good. Where exactly is it? The name sounds familiar, so I'm sure I've seen it, but can't place where it is in Frenchtown.
Thanks!
Epernay is just around the corner from Bella Blu. Below Stereo and next-ish to Frenchtown Deli. It faces the small side parking lot.
Here is what Frommers says about Epernay:
Frommer's Review
This stylish watering hole, with a view of the ocean, adds a touch of Europe to the neighborhood. You can order glasses of at least six different brands of champagne, and vintage wines also come by the glass. Appetizers include sushi and caviar. You can also order main courses, plus tempting desserts such as chocolate-dipped strawberries. A mature, sophisticated crowd seeks out this spot. Open Monday to Wednesday 11:30am to 11pm, Thursday to Saturday 11:30am to midnight. Rue de St.
Is Epernay on the water? Can you get there by dinghy? Is there a dock we can tie up to? And, if so, can you give me a water-view perspective where it is on the water front?
I haven't been to Epernay in a couple of months, but they used to stay open until 4 in the morning or so. I'm not sure how late they serve food though. But if they aren't serving food, run back to Betsy's and get the killer chili cheese dog. It goes great with the Champagne you'll have afterwards at Epernay. I swear it.
