Coming back to St John for another visit in February. Looking for new restaurants and recent closures ---- Also what is your favorite dining spot and why?

There is a website that list all the restaurants. (stjohnusvirestaurants.com) Hope this helps. And St.Johns spice website has a list of restaurants and closures.

Not sure when you were last there, but there have been some changes in the past 2 years.

Our favorite is Rhumblines. The food is interesting and the setting is great!

We had a wonderful meal at La Plancha that is now at Mongoose Junction.

Thanks for the comments -- it was last February when I was there. Glad to hear Rhumblines is still great -- it was one of my favorites.

I several times went to The Spy Glass in Cruz Bay, St. John.
Had grilled salmon (with mango vinegarette on top of greens, and carmelized cashews).
Awesome!

Although not new since your last visit, La Plancha del Mar is in a new location. They are now in Mongoose Junction in the old Paradiso spot. They have a great happy hour menu, $5 selected apps and $2 sangria and some beers too I believe. Pretty sure it is from 5-6 daily. I LOVE La Plancha. Great food, great service, and now a great location.

The Fatty Crab will be opening soon as well. They are located in the old Tage/Hinds spot between the police station and public school. I think they are shooting for a Feb 7 opening.

I have a new policy on reviewing restaurants, due to the fact that I sometimes can't get into Pie Whole one of my favorites in Saint Thomas and I feel personally responsible for part of the crowds due to my frequent posts of pictures of great pizza and beer. So I will no longer post positive stuff when I like a place. That being said don't go to La Plancha Del Mar, or Rumb Lines, or Cafa Roma or Lime Inn.
Actually I can't do it even if I never get in a gain. La Plancha was a great place in their little location and they didn't loose anything in the move to the large location, enjoy.
