I am trying to plan my restaurant visits better for this trip. I always seem to take a very ad hoc approach and miss out on some of the good ones because they are closed when I choose to show up at their door. Perhaps winter months are different (I am normally and off-season visitor).

Here is my list of intended restaurants. I could look these up, but have tried for a little bit and finding the hours isn't as easy as it might seem.I would appreciate a heads up about any closings on any days....

INDiGO
Havana Blue
Cuzzins
North Drop
Rhumb Lines
Caribbean Saloon
Azure

Indigo has the Traveling Road Show (arts & crafts) there on Mondays - or used to....and I've been there when they were open on Mon.

Havana Blue - on property of Morningstar so WHY would they close? although the Beach House on BOlongo is closed on Monday nights, so who knows....will try & find out.

NOrth Drop - yes.

Caribbean Saloon - no way do they close =)

no idea on Rhumb Lines or Azure

Thank you both. That'll save me from ruining my restaurant plan.

Thanks for the specific food recommendations, agv. I have been told, countless times, to try the Mojitos at Havana Blue, so there must be something to them. And since I love mojitos, that sounds like a winner. The fillet recommendation is new. I had been reading about the Sea Bass. Do they have any music? Piano? Do you recommend asking for a specific table (a window table or other better positioned table?)

I like the music, although not live. It has an upbeat latin rhythm. I like the window tables, but every table seems to have a great view. I like to go at sunset, when the cruise ships are leaving, the view is awesome. I've heard the seabass is awesome too.

Mojito

3 fresh mint sprigs
2 tsp sugar
3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 oz light rum
club soda

In a tall thin glass, crush part of the mint with a fork to coat the inside. Add the sugar and lemon juice and stir thoroughly. Top with ice. Add rum and mix. Top off with *chilled* club soda (or seltzer). Add a lemon slice and the remaining mint, and serve.

I have a bottle of Cruzan light rum with mint leaves always in it.

Oh, it's a drink? Embarrassedly I have to admit I thought it was a food... sounds Mexican, so I thought maybe it was some sort of Spanish influenced Caribbean food!

crickett : ) who might have to cook up something Tex-Mex and call it a Mojitto (notice 2 T's so they're not the same) LOL

Mojito:

It is very refreshing and light - for those of us who have learned not to drink painkillers for the entire trip and gain 20 lbs!!!

Room with a View is closed, but the Banana Tree Grill right outside is (or was) open on Mondays - Lightning Phil used to play Mondays there. He's now at Lat 18 on Mondays until Dick SOlberg's run is up in April (I think)
