Hi. I'll be visiting St. John in September and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for restaurants. I'm not a seafood person so they have to be places that serve other things. Someone had mentioned a place called Zozo's in one of the postings I read. Does anyone know if that is far from the Westin?

Zozo's is at Gallows Point and is a very nice place. Italian food. Go to the bar and get a seat for the sunset over Pillbury Sound. You can eat at the bar as well. Expensive. At the Westin is Chloe and Bernards, another resturant with an excellent rep.

About 1-2 blocks away is the Lime Tree, very good for seafood and popular with locals and visitors. Mid-range prices. Miss Lucy's out past Coral Bay toward Salt Pond is one of my favorites for water front dining and has excellent food. There's lot's of good places, depending on what you want. New one's have opened this year. Ask the locals. They know soonest when a restaurant is going off or doing good stuff.

don't ignore the local places. One of my favorite sopt's is Joe's barBQ - a tiny litle place across from the post office with a few tables that does ribs and chicken. You can buy a beer across the street to have with the food. big lunch fav with locals and visitors. And is cheap too boot. Skinny Legs has decent hambergers and a great bar. Shipwreck landing is another long time favorite.

Have a drink at Caneel Bay bar, but eat elsewhere.

Becareful with all that because lots of places are close during that time. I believe lime Inn closes every year at the time and most places close for one week in september depending on the week.
Any huge storm threats will also thwart openings because the ferries get held up sometimes if a storm is expected.

You might not know for sure what is open until that week!
Sorry.
