*Two years ago there was a nice restaurant in the Frenchtown area that had mexican food, made guacamole at your table, and had great margaritas. Last year when I there it was closed for the month of September. Does anyone know the name of the restaurant and if it is still in operation? I loved the place and would recommend it to anyone.

Noche's is closed and has been for quite some time. Good news for Mexican lovers is Margarita Phil's is opening in Frenchtown right up the street from where Noche's used to be.

Noche's was the name. Thanks but I'm disappointed that they closed down. It looks like I'll have to try Margarite Phil's.

We ate at the new restaurant Fajitas at Emerald Beach and it was pretty good. Noche struggled with their identity and what they wanted to serve and they alienated the local base which keeps them afloat.

I hope the STT version of Margarita Phils has better food and much better service that the STJ version. I've always been disappointed there. I have to give Polli's the win on the STJ mexican category.

I must of caught Polli's on a bad night. When I ate there I can easily say that was the worst Mexican I have ever eaten and I have consumed a lot. The margaritas were the pathetic watered down, tart out of a machine version and the food tasted like it came out of a microwave. I guess I need to give them another shot.
On STT I usually stick with Burritto Bay Deli in Red Hook. I tried Faijitas at Emerald Beach and it was better then I expected but not good enough for me to make the drive unless I was waiting to pick up somebody at the airport.

True I think it is impossible to find GOOD mexican food on STT or STJ. I think all of them are just average. My fave is Charlotte Tamales but it has limited menu altough at least its fresh and tasty. I wish a authentic Mexican place would open up.
