Hi y'all,
I have 2 questions.....Who should I rent a car from for the best price?
AND........who lets you take the car to STJ on the ferry just for a day?
Thanks! Coming down June 17-24
Thanks!
Best Price: Recommend AVIS at Havensight.
AVIS allows you to take vehicle to STJ.
Okay AVIS it is, however what was the cost and how long ago was that. As a Traveling RN I need to ask for dollars before I go. Yea, I could search for or call AVIS but I am here and asking right now!
Thanks!
I checked for a week and Dollar was $284 Budget was $300 and Thrifty was $ 277.
I am checking AVIS in a minute.......... $334 for AVIS at all 4 locations. Is AVIS the only One that let's you take the car to STJ?
thanks everyone
budget lets you take the car to stj, but I will never rent from them again. They are one of the most disorganized places I have ever dealt with.
We are renting from Avis and taking the vehicle over to St. John in June. If you are a Costco member...you get a discount. I think we paid around 360.00 for a 4WD for 1 week (not including taxes and whatever other fees). If they quoted you 334 for 1 week for a 4WD that's good.
You should try discountcar.vi... you can take the car to STJ!
Make sure you contact the Havensight Dock Avis office. They have the lowest prices. Do not go through the internet or airport location. Call AVIS directly at 340-777-8888. Ask for Estell!
Have a good trip!
My wife is here as a travel nurse and we have always gotten our cars from Dependable Car Rental for the past 8 years or so. I hope you're enjoying your time as a traveller.
The only company I have heard that restricts cars to St. John is Hertz. Though, one of my buddies is a big Hertz renter and he always takes his Hertz rental to St. John. We use Dependable and like the folks. Discount is open later.
Cheers, RickG
We just rented from Discount. The car cost $335.00 for the week.
You can take their cars over to STJ and all 3 cars were in great shape. 3 jeeps wranglers.
This time though, it was pretty much a pain because with 12 people, somebody was always trying to squeeze themselves into the back seat. They're not easy to get into and I'm talking about 20 somethings doing it.
Next time I would rent a regular car for sure.
Sounds like you guys are island people and the work for Travel Nurses is okay since you have been back 8 times. We have never been to the USVI before so we are looking forward to a great time.
Do you have any advice? I am retired and my wife is the travel nurse. We sure could use any advice you can offer! It sounds like everything is a lot more expensive than on the mainland, even for the locals. Thanks!
