Are there any Rental Car Companies that allow cars to take Car Ferry from STJ to STT. We are staying on STJ for a week and want to spend one day on STT but do not want to pay Cab fare to stop and go at each sight. What about in Red Hook? Are there rental companies there? If so which do you recommend?

Sorry but none of the STJ rental car companies allow their vehicles off island - some have you sign the contract that states that it is a $1,000 fine should you do so (I know St John Car Rental has this on their contract)

You'd probably save some money by renting your vehicle in STT then taking it over to STJ.
Don't know how they would legally do that. I guess it's just a threat. Rent in STT and take the car to STJ. Better anyway. Load luggage only once. Stop on the way and shop.

Thanks for all the replies and input. We are getting in to late to STT to rent on Saturday, so we are just going to cab to Ferry and I have a rental jeep lined up for week starting Sunday. I was just wondering if there was a way to save Money the one day we go back to STT. What is the best rental companies in Red Hook??

Lonnie I support St John businesses all the time. I did so 4 times today in fact. Just trying to be hospitable and help out some visitors.
