I'm looking to rent out Caribia Cottage for a week and notice its listed by a few agencies. For what reason would you pick one agency over another, assuming the rates are the same? Do the services they offer vary wildly?
Three of the agencies in question are McLaughlin Anderson, Villas Caribe and Island Hideaways, for those of you who may have had experience with one or more.
Many thanks.
You want to look for an agency that has representation on the island, especially a property manager available for issues that may arise during your stay.
You also want to compare prices.
You also want an agency that returns your calls and answers all your questions!
I have rented thru McLaughlin Anderson twice and would have absolutely no qualms about reffering them to anyone who asked. They were extremely professional and responded to any "silly question" that I had! The one time we had to call because of air in the water lines, they responded in a timely fashion and sent someone over to check it out. Turned out to be a low level of water in one cistern tank and they just needed to go to the second tank.

I was going to rent Caribia Cottage in July for the view, but was afraid it might be toooo hot then since there is no AC. Didn't know if trade winds would cool enough in the heat of summer. I decided on Point & the views of Charlotte Amalie at night is fabulous. If you rent there, please leave us a report.
