Looking for a review of Rendevous Villa. Anybody stayed there recently?

I should have been more specific. Rendevous Villa is located on St. John in the Rendevous bay area. It's a house with 3 separate units and a shared pool. Lokks very nice and the rates are resonable. Just wondering what condition it's in and how's the view etc?

I stand corrected again. The spelling is Rendezvous Villa. Also does anyone know is this the same villa involved in the robbery of a couple on their honeymoon in May?

Hi,

I'm staying at the Rendezvous Terrace next week. I don't think this was the unit that was involved in the robbery, I asked the agency I'm renting through. I haven't been able to get any feedback on these units, I posted a thread a month or so ago. I'll be sure to write a reveiw when I get back on 6/20. Hope it's nice!

Thanks,

Karen

Hi,

Just returned last night from STJ. Had a wonderful time. The villa is awesome. We were in the Rendezvous Terrace on the pool level. It has a great view of the bay and St. Thomas. The Villa unit was right above us and looked very nice. It had a larger patio area than ours, looked exactly like the pictures on the website. The pool deck is bigger than it looks on the webiste. My boys got up every morning and jumped right in the pool. There are plenty of loungers around the pool with a great view. The pool needs a paint job but it's clean and large compared to other rentals. There is not that much construction where the villa is located, the island on the other hand has a lot of construction going on. Watch out for the dump trucks, they drive very fast and we saw one almost tip over. The mosquitos/no-seeums aren't too bad just bring bug spray. We found the Peace Pine grocery store was a lot cheaper then StarFish and the Dolphin market. The StarFish market did have a deli and bakery with a better selection of meat. Also the Simple Feast right past the Westin has a great deli. Have a great time and let me know if you have any other questions.

Oh one more thing, the Villa is located on a dangerous curve so be careful.

Karen

We're thrilled to hear that you had a great time. Thanks for writing back so soon. We're happy to hear that the view is great as well as the pool and deck. How far is the villa from Cruz Bay and is the road fully paved ? Did you find a need for the air-conditioning or are you high enough up to get the breeze? Also can you tell us where Peace Pine market is?
Did you visit any of the beaches on the south shore or do any hiking? We haven't explored this part of the island yet and were looking for some feedback.

Thanks,
Beth & Peter

Hi Beth,

The Villa is maybe a 10 minute drive to Cruz Bay and it is paved. If you are driving towards Cruz Bay from the Villa the Peace Pine is on the right before you veer left towards the water treatment plant. Sorry, I'm bad with mileage, it's passed the Westin about 1 mile. (towards Cruz Bay)

We used the A/C after being at the beach all day because we didn't get much air circulation from the windows being open. There are ceiling fans but it was nice to have the A/c. I think you mentioned you were booked in the Villa. You will park on the side street and go through a gate to get to your Villa. It's a nice walk down that street to the water. We walked down to the water and there are some beautiful homes to look at.

Our unit had beach chairs, camping chairs, fins and 3 coolers which all came in handy.

We've been to most of the beaches and we really liked Salt Pond Bay. It's a little walk to get to the beach but worth it. There is hiking there, I think there is another beach you can hike to called Drunk Bay. We didn't go, we were happy at Salt Pond. We saw lots of turtles and sting rays. We also went to Lameshur but didn't stay long. We were there in February and it was great but this time the water was very cloudy. Watermelon Cay is very nice too. You have to hike about 30 minutes to get there but it's worth it. Hope this helps, have fun.
